New Executive Assistant and Copywriter Xan Schwartz
I just wanted to take the opportunity to introduce myself to all our business members and followers. My name is Xan (which is short for Ale-XAN-dra), and I’m the new Keep It Local Executive Assistant and Copywriter. You may have noticed some hiccups lately as we’ve been shifting some things around. Hannah Palamara is taking a little time away from Keep It Local, and I have some big shoes to fill while she’s away!
I’m a Cleveland transplant from the suburbs of Detroit. In the Detroit area (we call it “metro Detroit”) it is generally frowned upon to say that you’re from Detroit when you’re really from the suburbs, but I haven’t run into that issue in Cleveland. I moved here after college (I won’t tell you where I went to school) because my boyfriend was attending Case Law, and we lived in the Coventry area for 3 years. During that time, I worked for a couple of small Cleveland businesses, being a big believer in “keeping it local.”
In 2016, we moved to Lakewood and I began my Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Nonfiction at Cleveland State. I’m passionate about psychology and mindfulness, writing and the arts, and social and environmental justice. I’m excited to be making connections with the local Cleveland community as part of the Keep It Local team. Please feel free to reach out to me anytime, and if I don’t have the answers to your questions, I’ll put you in touch with someone who does!
