Coffee beans from around the world, roasted right here in Cleveland.
Imagine a younger man in Rwanda, harvesting coffee beans. His whole family involved in the process from planting, to watering, growing, and picking the green coffee beans. Their hands are vital to the coffees we enjoy as a privilege at our local coffee shops or in the comfort of our home.
Now imagine that same family not being paid a fair wage for all of their hard work, and the quality coffee that they harvest.
That’s where Solstice Roasters is different. They are known for their Direct Trade practices, a process that gives the coffee farmers themselves a fair pay day. It’s more than just fair-trade – which often doesn’t pay their employees what they promise and advertise. No, Solstice Roasters goes above and beyond, making sure that the people they source from: the handlers, the distributors, and packagers, all get paid fairly.
Coffee Tasting Delight
We got to visit their warehouse downtown to do a coffee tasting of different roasts from around the world – Rwanda, Ethiopia, Brazil and more. As soon as you walk in you aromas of coffee being roasted envelop you, what a delight.
Did you know coffee beans harvested in different countries have different flavors? In Rwanda or Ethiopia you’ll find that coffees have a rich taste of grapefruit or cherries. In other countries like Brasil you may find more of vanilla or cocoa taste. It’s fascinating to taste-test and be surprised by their different flavors – from farm to cup of joe.
If you’re interested in visiting their warehouse, and tasting some of their roasts you can do so by visiting their website.

3 Easy Steps for Coffee at Home
Take your French Press and add the pouch of coffee that comes with the kit – it is already measured out for you.
Pour in 30 ounces of boiling water, or until French Press is full. Place cap on the press, but do not yet push grounds to bottom of vessel. We want them to be fully immersed in the water. Wait for 3 minutes.
Press grounds to bottom of vessel, and pour delicious French Press coffee into your mug!
How easy is that?! Order yours here and enjoy your cup of joe every morning!
