As August comes to a close, we Clevelanders are gearing up for the change of seasons.
River Dog Cafe Clambake Block Party
Celebrate the final weeks of summer with River Dog Cafe’s community clambake block party! This party will take place at the Rocky River Public Library on September 13th from 5 pm to 8 pm. Tickets can be purchased for a 5 or 6 o’clock mealtime. Included with your ticket purchase are a dozen freshly steamed clams with clarified butter, a cup of Housemade New England Clam Chowder, grilled 1/4 lb chicken thigh/leg combo, a half ear of corn on the cob, grilled kielbasa, crispy redskins, and green beans! You can host your own River Dog Cafe clambake in your neighborhood! Booking now through November 1st, they will pack up their food truck with clams, corn, green beans and the works and take it to your outdoor event!

Lago East Bank Cheese & Wine Fest 2018
If seafood isn’t quite up your alley, maybe you’d like a little cheese with that whine… or better yet, wine and cheese at Lago East Bank’s Cheese & Wine Fest 2018! Come sample cheeses from all over the world and wines that compliment each one, this parade of perfect pairings is happening October 18th from 5 pm to 9 pm. Western Reserve Meadery's Paint with Me(ad) Spooktacular
If you’re looking for more alcohol infused events to help you ease into fall, Western Reserve Meadery has just the thing for you. Coming this Saturday, September 1st, they will be hosting a party to celebrate the release of their new seasonal creation, Spiced Pumpkin Mead! This drink is made with locally produced clover honey, pumpkin, and pumpkin pie spices, a perfect flavor palette to get you into an Autumn state of mind.
Another fall-inspired event coming soon to Western Reserve Meadery is the Paint With Me(ad) Spooktacular co-hosted by Art with Heart. At this event, participants get to sip mead and paint spooky wine bottles. If this sounds like a lovely autumn evening, be sure to mark your calendar for October 3rd!
Smithsonian Museum Day at the Cleveland History Center
Immerse yourself in Cleveland’s rich history this fall… for free! Western Reserve Historical Society is participating in this year’s Smithsonian Museum Day on September 22nd, which provides free museum tickets to local residents so people who have never had a chance to attend get to experience history in a way they never have before! Western Reserve Historical Society is also making some changes this season, including a total remodel of the Kidzibit Play Zone! The play zone will be open again on September 1st. Also, starting September 9th they will be open on Sundays from 10 am – 5 pm.
New Tours from Tours of Cleveland
Cleveland has some interesting history, but if you’d like to see more of Cleveland today, why not try a walking tour from Tours of Cleveland? Starting September 11th, they’re adding a brand new walking tour called the Euclid Avenue Stroll Package for two, a great fall date-night idea. As you might have guessed, this tour will take you down Euclid Ave to explore local landmarks like Playhouse Square, the Cleveland Trust Bank Building, the Arcade and everything in between! As you and your special friend take in the sights, a photographer provided by Ed Bacho Photography will be taking candid and posed shots so you’re sure to have a memento of your night out, even if you forget to take a selfie together. Included with your ticket purchase is a $50 credit for a meal at Pura Vida Restaurant, located at 170 Euclid Avenue, where the tour will end. The package will be $159 per couple. Fundraisers from Bike Cleveland
If you’re looking to tour Cleveland at a little faster pace, Bike Cleveland’s upcoming Fundo on September 8th is definitely worth a visit! As a part of the NEOcycle urban cycling festival, Bike Cleveland’s Fundo event offers three different lengths to accommodate cyclists of all skill levels, and each route is fully supported with rest stop areas. Included in your ticket purchase is a food truck ticket, a voucher for a draft beer, and free entertainment at the NEOCycle Hub at Edgewater Park. Click the Fundo logo to the left to register now!
You’ll have another opportunity to fundraise with Bike Cleveland on September 29th at Bikes N Brews. This event takes you on a cycling tour of Cleveland breweries, with 3 different distances to chose from. Every participant will be issued a passport to validate at each brewery you visit along the way, and at the very end of your ride, you’ll receive samples from featured breweries on the route, a pint from our hosts at Forest City Brewing, and post-ride food. Ingenuity Fest 2018
Last but certainly not least on our list of seasonal fun is Ingenuity Fest presented by Ingenuity Cleveland! This Cleveland fall-favorite festival returns September 28-30 at the Hamilton Collaborative (5401 Hamilton Ave)! The festival will present a range of performances and activities including dance, music, interactive exhibits, hands-on maker activities, local vendors, and more. Local food vendors and breweries will be present with the best Cleveland has to eat and drink. In addition, artists and entrepreneurs from the area will be present, looking to connect with Clevelanders like you! Featured programming includes Squonk Opera’s Pneumatica, Afro-futurist duo Oshun, and a new vertical dance collaboration with MorrisonDance called Changing Landscapes.
